Remote Control Helicopter Types:

Toy (single rotor and coaxial) Not Remote Control

Toy helicopters are not remote control, but are included here by way of explanation. Toy helicopters are cheaper and easier to fly, and will take more punishment until you learn to fly them! One main rotor plus tail rotor means that they have no cyclic control; they cannot hover, fly sideways, or fly backwards. They will, however, survive most of your mistakes. Coaxial helicopters have two main rotors in a stack. They have full cyclic control and can hover, fly forwards, backwards, and sideways.

Looking After Your Helicopter:

  • Clean and inspect your helicopter after each flight.
  • Allow the Helicopter to cool for 15 – 30 mins before recharging the battery. This will prolong the battery life.
  • Look for any sign of damage – do not fly it until repaired.
  • Small tears can be repaired with strong tape, but important and delicate parts should be replaced.
  • Never repair rotors; the balance may be impaired – always replace them
  • Remember to charge batteries before flights.
